Perfect weekend for the movies! Basketball fans ( Dads- take your sons & daughters -Coaches take your team!) should make the trip to Manhattan's IFC Theater located on Sixth Ave- directly across the street from the famous WEST 4th STREET "Cage". (West 4th Street Subway Stop)
NYC Basketball Legend Kenny Anderson's Basketball documentary ("MR CHIBBS") starts playing Friday. There will be a question & answer session with the film maker & Kenny Anderson himself after an evening showing ( 7 p.m.ish showing ?)
I had the opportunity to see an earlier screening and can honestly say "MR. CHIBBS" is one of the best films I've ever seen about a players basketball journey from being labeled a "phenom" as a 10 yr. old, to earning All America honors as a high school/college player & then have a 14 yr. NBA "All Star" career. It's not all smooth sailing for Kenny & he puts it all out their for all to see & think about
Much respect goes out to Kenny for baring his heart & soul to the viewers of this powerful film. MANY, MANY "must see" lessons are in this film. Make the effort to get there, you'll be glad you did.
